At Jaclyn Cruz Speech Language Therapy, Inc., I provide play-based services to families looking to grow communication skills. I give families the tools to facilitate language rich environments and promote strong speech and language skills. I educate parents on language-based activities and on ways to modify the home to promote language growth. I believe in the importance of following a child’s lead by exploring their interests and encouraging children to explore new concepts through various types of play. I specialize in working with Early Intervention populations (1-3 years) and the Preschool Years (3-6 years). I presently offer in-office visits in Hawthorne, CA with the possibility of in-home on a case by case basis. In-home services are dependent on days and times as I do not service every area each day. Services

Consultation

The first step to starting services is to schedule a free phone consultation where we will discuss my program, your concerns for your child, and what the process looks like. I will also determine if I am a good fit to meet your child’s needs.

Evaluation

The next step is an evaluation where your child’s skills will be assessed to determine the need for services. Your child will be asked to perform tasks in the area of concern and you will be able to provide your insight and ask any questions.

Therapy

Once it is determined that services are needed, we will move forward with scheduling speech and language therapy sessions. My model is a family-centered and play-based approach where I aim to teach families and caregivers the skills they need to grow effective communication at home and in the community. Therapy takes place in-office with the possibility of in-home and alternative locations (ie. school, grandparents’ house, daycare, online, etc.) considered on a case by case basis and with the cooperation of the locations’ responsible parties.
